Beaches around the island of Aegina - Greece

In general, the whole coastline of Aegina is home to a wonderful selection of beautiful beaches, small bays and picturesque hamlets that are ideal for swimming, relaxation and also fishing.

At Kolona, a short walk from the main port of Aegina, is where you will find the municipality beach of the town.

It is a popular beach for those who are visiting Aegina on a day trip, and may not have enough time to travel to other parts of the island. A short distance away are the beaches of Plakakia, Paliopyrgos and Agios Vasilios.

Another popular beach where many people head to are the delightful beaches of Panagitsa, and the beaches of Marathonas with exceptionally clean waters.

A popular resort in Aegina is that of Agia Marina, and here you will fins the spotless, wide sandy beach, which is one of the most popular on the island. This beach is ideal for watersports. Also found in Agia Marina are some charming secluded bays where you can find some lovely secluded beaches.

In the town of Perdika, there is a nice beach, as well as the picturesque one found in the region of Marathonas. This beach is directly opposite a delightful islet which is 3 nautical miles away, and can be visited by boat.

Souvala is also another popular destination for swimming in Aegina, where many people head to, to enjoy the fine clear waters. There are several hotels operating along the beach in Souvala, with some offering facilities and services for water sports.

Aegina is also a popular island for natural spa baths, and the Greek Tourist Organisation has installations of spa baths in the unique springs here on the island.

These waters have great healing properties and are ideal for those who may be suffering from rheumatism, arthritis, gynecological problems or skin diseases.

The charming coastal village of Vagia, and the southern village of Portes is also an excellent destination to visit. For those who have their own boat, you can anchor in the port of Aegina of the fishing village of Perdika.
