Mesagros Town - Aegina Island Greece
Mesagros is a traditional mountainous village, 9km northeast from the town Aegina. It is a village that has great traditional with regards to ceramic pottery.
The geographic position of the village, close to the temple of Aphea Athina, has given a great boost to the village, regarding its touristic development.
The village itself is very pretty, and throughout the year, the flourishing nature and flowers give the village a unique selection of beautiful colours and aromas.
For visitors to the village, some interesting sights include "The house of Rodakis". This house is a prime example of the architecture of the 1880s, and is in very good condition.
At the old center of Mesagros, visitors will come across the old church of Politissas, which was the parish of the village.
The modern day village church is that of Agios Konstantinos, which is celebrated on the 21st May each year, with festivities that all are welcome to attend.
Mesagros is a wonderful village on Aegina to visit, and has some wonderful
views over the island and the temple of Aphea Athina. It is a very relaxing
place, and one where visitors can enjoy some very peaceful and interesting
moments.
